(Eccl. Hist.) The followers of Nestorius, Patriarch of Constantinople, in the fifth century, who forbade men to entertain any combined notion of the divine and human nature in Christ. Nestorius was opposed in the Council of Ephesus, A.D. 431, by Cyril of Alexandria. His opinions spread far Eastwards; in the West they were met by the opposite theories of Eutyches. - An inorganic water-soluble platinum complex. After undergoing hydrolysis, it reacts DNA produce both intra interstrand crosslinks. These crosslinks appear to impair replication and transcription of DNA. The cytotoxicity cisplatin correlates with cellular arrest in G2 phase cell cycle.
