-
A solid and tenacious compound, adhesive at the ordinary beat of the human body. Some of the plasters owe their consistence to wax and resin; and others to the chemical union which takes place between the semivitreous oxide of lead and oil. Most of them become too consistent by age. When such is the case, they may be remelted by a gentle beat, and oil be added to them.
