[Latin] The mucous membrane covering the inner surface of the lids and the eyeball. It consists of the Palpebral c. attached to the lids; the Bulbar (or Ocular) c. covering the anterior surface of the eyeball as far as the cornea (where it terminates in a free edge, the Limbus of the c.); and the loose, flexible Retrotarsal fold connecting the two. - An inorganic water-soluble platinum complex. After undergoing hydrolysis, it reacts DNA produce both intra interstrand crosslinks. These crosslinks appear to impair replication and transcription of DNA. The cytotoxicity cisplatin correlates with cellular arrest in G2 phase cell cycle.
