Origin: By a series of fasciculi from back of sacrum, posterior superior spine of ilium, and posterior sacro-iliac ligaments, articular processes of lumbar and cervical vertebrae, transverse processes of thoracic vertebrae. Insertion: Laminae and spinous processes of vertebrae (one fasciculus to each vertebrae). Nerve: Internal posterior branches of sacral, lumbar, and thoracic nerves. Action: Keeps spine erect; rotates spine.

- An inorganic water-soluble platinum complex. After undergoing hydrolysis, it reacts DNA produce both intra interstrand crosslinks. These crosslinks appear to impair replication and transcription of DNA. The cytotoxicity cisplatin correlates with cellular arrest in G2 phase cell cycle.
