The leaves of a tree of the East Indies. These leaves entered into the theriac, mithridate, and Other ancient electuaries. They are believed to be from a species of laurel-Laurus Cassia; but, according to others, from Laurus Malabathrum. The Oleum Malabathri is obtained from it.
