This plant is regarded in Germany as a bitter resolvent. It is the basis, also, of a celebrated nostrum, the Blankenheimer Tea, called likewise Lieber's pectoral and phthisical herbs (Liebersche Brust oder Auszehrungs-Krauter), which has enjoyed great repute in pectoral complaints. The tops of the plant are given in decoction. This quantity to be taken in a day.
