Cat's purr.' Purring Tremor, Laennec has given this name to the agitation which is sensible to the hand, when applied on the praecordial region, and which he considers a sign of ossification or other contraction of the auriculo-ventricular openings. The name was chosen by him from the analogy of the sound to the purring of a cat.
