An Italian poet; born in Florence; died about 1367. He was a grandson of Uberti, one of the Florentine leaders of the Ghibelline faction, and was driven into exile by the Guelphs. He wrote an unfinished descriptive poem called "The News of the World", which was quite celebrated.
