When numerous fallible measures of a quantity have been made, the best value obtainable from the measures is found by multiplying each measure by a certain number and dividing the sum of the products by the sum of the multipliers : these multipliers are the Combination weights. If the combination weights are made inversely proportional to the squares of the probable errors, they are the Theoretical weights.

Platidiam
- An inorganic water-soluble platinum complex. After undergoing hydrolysis, it reacts DNA produce both intra interstrand crosslinks. These crosslinks appear to impair replication and transcription of DNA. The cytotoxicity cisplatin correlates with cellular arrest in G2 phase cell cycle.
